The Greenville United Football Club will begin the 2026 season with a friendly contest against Johnston County FC at 6 p.m. at John Paul II Stadium. The game will be available for streaming on GUFC TV on YouTube. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or online at http://www.greenvilleutd.com/tickets.
A Historic Day in the Making
We are excited to announce that Greenville United legend Adrian Quiroga will be making one final appearance in the Green and Gold this Sunday. Adrian was the first goalkeeper in Greenville United history, where he made many appearances during the club’s days in the First Flight League, including winning the FFL championship in 2022.
Scouting Johnston County
Based out of Selma, Johnston County FC is a team that plays in the Capitol Area Soccer Association, a local soccer league consisting of teams from around the Triangle. This will be their second year after being formed in 2024.
Series History
Greenville United currently holds a 1-0-0 record against Johnston County. The Bucks set a franchise record of fourteen goals scored in a 14-0 victory over Johnston County.
Former Player Joins the Bucks
A former Johnston County FC player will be joining the Greenville United Roster this summer. Forward Hayden Summerfield will be joining Greenville United, who has played multiple matches for Johnston County. A Barton Bulldog from the Norwich City Academy in England, he will be like many who will be joining in time for our first NPSL match of the season.
A Local Roster
While many of Greenville United’s college players will be missing the first two matches of the season due to school and exams, many local stars will be able to shine for these games. This will include multiple PGSA players, Washington standout Tucker Colville, and more. In addition, local players such as Eddy Mensah, Abubacar and Mo Fofana, Abdoulie Mbaye, and more will take the stage.
