Aaron Okwei to take the Reigns for 2025

Greenville United Football Club is excited to announce the appointment of Aaron Okwei as the new head coach for the upcoming season. Okwei, one of the team’s original founders and Director of Soccer Operations, is uniquely positioned to guide the team to success, having been instrumental in the club’s growth from its inception in 2020.

Coach Okwei was born and raised in Accra, Ghana where he played for the Middlesborough Academy. Professionally, Aaron played for the Desert Warriors of the Ghanian Division Two League and most recently Greensboro International FC of the United Premier Soccer League. Okwei is also currently coaching the PGSA Stars Green 14U team of the Pitt-Greenville Soccer Association.

In addition to being the cofounder of Greenville United, he also founded and resides as Club President of Greenville FC in Ghana, who currently is in the Ghanaian Division Three League and has three additional youth academy teams. Greenville FC’s goal is to find the best talents in Africa, with an emphasis on education both on and off the field. Greenville United and Greenville FC have an official partnership to bring their best players to North Carolina for further development as they pursue their soccer careers.

“I am thrilled to be joining Greenville United and am looking forward to working with the players, staff, and fans to achieve our goals. This club has tremendous potential, and I am committed to building a competitive and exciting team”
