Greenville United is excited to announce the addition of David Peñarrieta as assistant coach for the 2026 season.
Coach David brings a wealth of soccer knowledge to the coaching staff. His playing career consisted of NPSL side Hershey FC and was part of the pro futsal club Baltimore Kings U-23 squad. He has spent years with the New York City Football Club under their youth program, serving a variety roles such as lead coach for the Yonkers program and coordinated annual summer camps with Premier League club Manchester City. Currently, he serves as head coach for multiple teams in the Pitt-Greenville Soccer Association.
“I’m honored to join Greenville United and contribute to a club that holds high standards both on and off the field,” said Peñarrieta. “My experience within professional environments like NYCFC, along with the education I gained through the Manchester City methodology, has prepared me to help drive performance, discipline, and a winning culture. I’m looking forward to a strong summer, pushing the players to grow, continuing the club’s success on the pitch, and making a positive impact within the Greenville community.”
Greenville United will kick off their season with a friendly against Johnston County FC on April 26, 2026.
